Your archetype
The Firekeeper
the one who cannot put the fire down
You resist the dark months · Samhain to Yule
This is you when
You are the strong one, the steady one, the keeper of every plate still spinning. Rest makes you restless. You measure your days in what got done, and an empty hour feels like a debt you will have to repay. People marvel at how much you carry; no one sees how tired you are.
The root of it
Somewhere along the way you learned that your worth had to be earned each day, and that if you stopped, something would fall apart. So you became the firekeeper, tending every flame but your own. Here is the truth of it... a fire left to burn freely and unattended completely consumes its fuel and goes out.
The season you resist
The dark months, Samhain to Yule, when the Wheel goes underground and asks everything living to be restored. This is the season you struggle through with sheer willpower and tension, and the one with the most to give you.
Your medicine
Rest you have not earned. Unproductive, unjustified, gloriously useless rest. Not as a reward for finishing, because you never let yourself finish, but as a practice. Start embarrassingly small; ten minutes counts.
Try this tonight
Light one candle in a dark room and sit with it for ten minutes, doing absolutely nothing. When the guilt arrives, and it will, say quietly, the field lies fallow so the harvest can come. Blow out the candle. Go to bed earlier than feels reasonable.
Ask yourself
What am I afraid would happen if I stopped, and is it actually true?
